Mahendra Kadia encouraged young and emerging artists in the field of arts and culture to pursue their dream. Mahendra Kadia Art Foundation (MKAF) is a non-profit initiative to further the late artist’s legacy. Kadia believed that mentoring young creators broaden the art canvas in society; contributing in this direction is one of the main objectives of MKAF. The foundation will engage in multiple initiatives across diverse aesthetic domains of visual arts, literature, performing arts and music. The foundation will achieve its goals through various activities like shows, publications, academia, conference, fellowships etc.

Taking Kadia’s art to a larger audience and have continued research and discussion on his works is also an aspiration of the foundation.

‘Birds’ are a significant subject of Mahendra Kadia’s vast artistic enquiries. The four prints of this edition are a selection from his works done in the early 90s. This series brought to fore Kadia’s artistic style and defined the visual character of his artworks. The lines created using a kitta, bestows spontaneity to his works. The juxtaposition of fine colour shades on bright contrasts enables him to achieve a quality that allows the painting to radiate. Here forms and expressions become one to become an indivisible unit.
